10 reasons why Nikon acquiring Samsung’s camera business doesn’t make any sense

Rumors about Nikon acquiring all or a portion of Samsung imaging business are nothing new - they started on Russian forums and dpreview and I even speculated about it a month ago:
니콘이 전부 혹은 일부던 삼성이미징사업을 인수한다는 것은 새로운 것은 아냐 - 러시안 포럼에서 시작된 이야기이고, 디피리뷰와 나도 한달 전쯤에는 예상을 하고 있었지.

I have also received email tips on this topic but never found them reliable enough to publish them online. Several readers have asked me about my opinion on all this, so here it is - I have no reason to believe any of this is true, here are my reasons:
또 이 소식에 관한 메일은 나도 받았지만, 온라인에서 그걸 공식화할 적절한 이유를 찾지 못했어. 몇몇 독자들은 나한테 여기에 관한 의견을 물어 왔고, 지금부터 말해주지....난 이 소식이 사실일 이유를 찾지 못했고, 내 근거를 말해 줄게.


Questionable sources/lack of reliable info: I would think that if this is true, I would have received multiple reports from reliable sources by now.
의문이 드는 루머출처/올바른 정보의 부래 : 난 이게 사실이라면, 난 믿을 만한 다수의 출처로부터 관련 사실을 통보받았어야 했어(지금까지.)

I don't think Samsung can provide any tech know-how to Nikon except access to sensors (Sony recently purchased Toshiba, Nikon has used Sony and Toshiba sensors in the past). Samsung will not completely get rid of their sensor division, because they need it for their mobile devices.
난 삼성이 니콘에게 없는 수준의 센서에 관한 기술적 노하우를 갖고 있다고 생각하지 않아(소니가 최근에 도시바 센서사업을 사들였고, 니콘은 이때까지 소니와 도시바의 센서를 써 왔지.) 삼성은 자신들의 센서 사업을 완전히 없애지 않을 것이고, 왜냐면 삼성의 모바일(센서) 기기 때문에 수요가 있기 때문이지. - (역자 주. 삼성이 모바일 때문에 센서사업을 유지하고, 니콘이 굳이 센서공급처를 바꿀 의미가 없다는 것입니다.)

I believe Nikon is going for a full frame mirrorless camera, the Samsung NX will not be of any help to Nikon unless Samsung has already developed a full frame mirrorless camera (there are rumors about that as well). Spending money to acquire just another APC-S mirrorless system after Sony and Leica already have full frame solutions is questionable to say the least.
난 니콘이 FF미러리스 시스템으로 넘어 갈 것이라고 믿고 있고, 삼성의 NX는 삼성이 이미 FF미러리스 카메라를 개발한 것이 아닌 이상 니콘에게 별 도움이 될 것이라곤 생각하기 힘들어(여기 그것들에 관한 루머들이 있지.) 이미 소니나 라이카가 FF시스템을 가지고 있는데 이제서야 다른 APS-C 시스템을 집어삼키는데 돈을 낭비하는 것은 지금에서는 상당한 의문점을 남겨 주는 일이지.

If Nikon has acquired Samsung's camera division, Samsung would not be publicly announcing that they are pulling out of different markets.
만약 니콘이 삼성카메라사업부를 인수했다면, 삼성은 다른 시장에서의 철수를 공식적으로 알리지 않았을 거야(철수가 아니라 니콘이 이어받을 거라고 바로 발표한단 말이죠-역자)

Nikon is a Japanese company, Samsung is a Korean company - a possible integration will be difficult for many reasons.
니콘은 일본기업이고, 삼성은 한국기업이야 - 여러 이유에 의해 제대로 된 통합은 아주 어려울 거야.

Nikon and Samsung are publicly traded companies, if something  really happened, there would be press releases from both sides. There are no leaks/rumors on that level of negotiations between companies of that size.
니콘과 삼성은 공개적으로 무역을 하는 회사들인데, 만약 정말로 뭔가가 일어난다면, 그들은 양 쪽에서 기자회견을 마련할거야. 지금은 어떤 흘림(힌트)이나 루머도 그 수준에서 나오지 않았지, 그만한 사이즈의 회사들인데 말이야.

Adding a new NX mount to the current Nikon lineup doesn't make any sense.
NX마운트를 현 니콘 라인업에 추가하는 것도 말이 안 되는 이야기라고.

Nikon will not gain a big user base - Samsung users are loyal, but there are not many of them.
니콘은 이걸로 큰 유저층을 얻을 수 없을 거야 - 삼성 유저들은 고급이지만, 그 수가 많지는 않지(비꼬는 것 같군요. 영상관련해서 인정하는 건 아닌듯.-역자)

Nikon is very conservative and proud company with a big heritage- I just don't see them aggressively buying another camera division and spending huge amount of cash on a system that basically did not go anywhere (the NX1 is still one of the best overall mirrorless cameras out there).  I believe Nikon is thinking/believing that they are doing just fine and they have the full potential to develop anything they want if there is need for it.
니콘은 매우 큰 국가적 베이스를 가진(의역. 일본의 기업!이라는 마인드라는 겁니다.) 매우 보수적인 기업이지 - 난 그들이 기본적으로 아무 데도 가지 않는 한 시스템이나 다른 카메라사업부를 큰 돈을 들여 공격적으로 사들인 것을 본 적이 없어. 난 니콘이 잘 하고 있고, 그들이 원하는 것이 있다면 그걸 충분히 개발해낼 잠재력을 가지고 있다고 생각해(솔직히 이건 니콘 영상 보면 말이 안 되는데요. 아닌가? -역자)

Somebody has been spreading false/made-up reports/rumors in the past few months and several websites have fallen for it by reporting it online as news coming from a "new source". I know for fact that those are 100% fabricated stories by the same individual(s). I would be very careful with anything you've seen online in the past few months. CanonRumors also reported on that few weeks ago.
누군가가 몇 달 전에 가짜 루머를 몇 개의 웹사이트에 뿌려댔고 그것들은 "새로운 출처"라는 이름으로 뉴스로 게시가 되었지. 난 같은 개개인으로부터 그것이 완전히 뻥이라는 것을 알아. 난 너희들이 온라인에서 본 몇 달 전의 어떤 것들에 관해 굉장히 신중한 편이야. 캐논루머스에서도 관련 내용을 몇 주 전에 게시했었지.
